When all products are entered our software allows the user to process the transaction three different ways.
Cash - If the customer is paying with cash key in F6.  Then the user will be prompted to enter the cash amount paid, key the total paid, and hit enter (see screen below).  Change due will appear at this time.  The user must now enter to continue in order to complete the transaction.  On this final "Enter," the cash drawer opens and the receipt prints.
Check or Credit Cards - If a customer is using a check rather than cash the user will key F7.  F7 is the same as the Cash feature but is saved in the users totals as "Check" and not as "Cash."  When the customer is using a debit or credit card the user will key F8.  Now, TAP's Point of Sale System allows the user to process the card through your register, so there are no seperate credit card machines or receipts.
Charge Accounts - TAP's software allows your business to set up charge accounts.  If a customer has an account established and decides to charge their merchandise the user simply has to key F8 to charge the total to the customers account.  When F8 is keyed our software prompts for the account number.  At this prompt the user may enter the account number or instead hit the Esc. key.  Doing this allows for account lookup by keying in the customers last name.
TAP's register has always exceeded our customer's expectations.  Our software is easy to learn and simple to operate.  Despite the ease in which it operates it performs many tasks that your business may need.  Keyed commands are done using a keyboard (the same type used with your computer).  To the left is an example of a product that was scanned with the barcode scanner.
Product Names - When a business enters inventory into our system, the end user names each item that corresponds with each product number or UPC.  Rather than "First Aid" (which I used instead of an actual product), the user may decide to include the brand name and products size.
The product name or description seen on the screen is also what shows up on your customers receipt.
To the left you can see that in addition to the "First Aid" product my customer is buying three cards.  The price located at the bottom right is the current total, including tax.
Quantity - To enter the three cards the user shown simply typed 2 (our predefined number for cards), then our software prompted for the price and finally prompted for the quantity.  If you scan a product the price will automatically come up and the quantity will automatically be one.  To change the quantity the user can either push the up arrow key (taking them to the quantity prompt) and enter the total number of this certain product, or scan each individual item.
Non-Tax - To make a product non-tax, before keying or scanning the item simply key F5 on your keyboard.  This will make only the following item non-tax.
Void - To void an item key F1 then rescan the item and that product will be removed.
Coupons - If a customer has a coupon, anytime during the transaction the user may enter F4 (VC = Vendor Coupon) and key in the amount of the coupon.  This amount will be subtracted from the subtotal of the transaction, and it will be present on the receipt.
To the right is the Sales screen on TAP's Point of Sale software.  This will be what is shown on your screen between transactions.
Users - Each register must be logged onto in order to get to where a transaction may be processed.  In addition, all registers must be logged onto as a different user.
Product Entry - Once you are logged on as a valid user you may now scan a product's UPC, scan a printed barcode (example: our Pharmacy software prints barcodes), enter a preset category number (example: typing 2 and hitting enter automatically brings up "CARDS"), or on TAP's POS Pharmacy system you may hit the enter key and type a prescription number.
